Tent Camping in the Rain Hacks

This spring has been marked by persistent precipitation over most of the South. Camping has been quite the difficulty when it comes to maintaining a dry environment. When we travel out to the campground, the most difficult challenge will be ensuring that the camping tent is set up in the appropriate location.

You should avoid setting up your camping tent in a low place at all costs. This is the single most important thing to remember. Make sure that you always pitch on the higher terrain, no matter what. If you are compelled to pitch your tent on a camping pad at any of the government-run campgrounds, this will often not be an issue for you. But if you are bold and prefer to go into the bush, you really need to be careful of your surroundings and make sure that you pitch your tent in the appropriate spot. This is especially important if you are camping alone.

Keep an eye out for spots on the ground that have a darker hue or a wetter appearance compared to the surrounding regions. You are aware? The areas of the soil that have not dried up as quickly as the surrounding soil will have a darker appearance. Set up your tent for the night on top of a little rise. It is not a good idea to set up your camping tent on the highest point of the hill if you are in a region where there is a high probability of thunderstorms. You can count on the runoff to work in your favour, but I can’t say for certain that the lightning will.

In a nutshell, all you need to do is check yourself to see if you are not experiencing clinical depression, and you should be OK.
