How to Break Camp Properly?

When you break camp, you should try to leave it in better condition than when you found it than it was in when you arrived. Maintain a responsible attitude toward the campground you are using. If you came upon any rubbish, you should do everything you can to carry it out or, if permitted, burn it. If you came upon any cans, you should examine whether or not you can transport them in your bag. It’s not easy, and it’s certainly not pleasant, but having excellent character is hard work. Okay, I’ve had enough of your sermons. At the absolute least, you should take everything out with you that you brought in.
When breaking camp, you will want to ensure that all of your personal belongings are as clean and dry as is humanly possible before packing them away. It is recommended that you brush it off before folding up your sleeping bag. When you pull down the camping tent, you should give it a good shake and attempt to dry it off if necessary. When you start rolling up the tent, make sure to brush off any dirt or debris that may be on it. At your assistance, the likelihood of putting a hole in your equipment will be reduced.

The groundcloth should come next, and before you put it down, you should once again sweep away any dirt and debris. Before rolling up the groundcloth, you’ll want to make sure it’s completely dry first.

In most cases, as soon as you return back to your house, you will want to unpack the tent, the groundcloth, and any other gear that may have been soiled during your trip so that you may clean it and thoroughly dry it by hanging it up.

If you take proper care of your gear, you will be able to continue using it for a significant amount of time into the foreseeable future.
